The Bumpkins Environment

Our roomsSupporting children with their development and ensuring they thrive in a safe and happy environment is what working at Bumpkins is all about. Our qualified and highly skilled team provide quality care to make sure your child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Working with the Children

Our activitiesOur Bumpkins team are wonderful role models, showing positive attitudes and behaviours at all times. They choose a wide variety of activities and toys to encourage the children to be involved and engage them in learning through play, changing activities regularly to keep everything fresh and banish boredom.

By providing a stimulating environment, children feel safe to explore and actively learn new skills. We create a consistent, positive, environment. This means children of all abilities can flourish here. The Bumpkins team follow routines and supervise children both outdoors and indoors, at snack time, during focused activities and free play too.

Skills that we ValueOur Nursery

Our qualified and knowledgeable team work together to:

  • Make plans and implement any changes needed to routines and to play areas.
  • Follow the EYFS and introduce a new theme each week, keeping things interesting for everyone.
  • Help children learn about the wider world around them and celebrate various festivities throughout the year.
  • Safeguard the children in our care by understanding confidentiality and knowing that your child’s welfare is paramount.
  • Remain positive and make sure every child is happy and involved.

Ongoing staff training means everyone holds a first aid qualification and helps to make sure the Bumpkins team know the latest in child development. Health and safety is paramount to any nursery and Bumpkins is no different. Staff work hard to keep the rooms clean, tidy and safe for all.

Behind the Scenes

Activities at BumpkinsKey workers monitor each child’s progress by keeping a learning journal and making daily observations. These help them to keep parents and carers fully informed on how their child is doing and allow them to highlight areas of development to focus on next such as toilet training and learning to be more independent in preparation for school. Learning is always child-led and at their own individual pace.

Job satisfaction comes instantly through seeing the children enjoying themselves and helping them transition both into the Bumpkins setting and onwards when moving up to school. The team takes pride in watching the children develop their skills over time, building their confidence. Helping to shape a future generation is incredibly important and a very rewarding career.
