A Bumpkins Mummy Talks to Us About Social Skills

Social Skills

One of our favourite things to do, is talk to parents a year or so after their child has joined Bumpkins, to see how they’ve found the experience and the effect that it’s had on their child. A prime example of this is the clip below, where our interviewer speaks to Candis, Mummy to Hayley.

“I love Bumpkins, she settled in so quickly, she’s come out of her shell and grown so much!”

There’s also a lot to be said for the socialisation aspect of Bumpkins Nursery. Often, one child families express concern that their child doesn’t have an automatic playmate like many children with siblings find they do, but here at Bumpkins, we encourage sharing and co-operative play, which helps your child to develop important social skills before they start school.

“My second one is due in September, and I’m hoping to have him here as well”

It’s not at all unusual for parents to send all of their children to Bumpkins, which means we have a level of continuity within a family, adding to the close community atmosphere that is a huge part of the #BumpkinsDifference. We’ve had many sets of brothers and sisters and word of moth recommendations mean that we often look after children whose parents are part of a wider social circle, so even if you see someone you don’t recognise in our hallways, you can’t often work out a connection to them through what we like to call “Six Degrees of Bumpkins Nursery”!
