Christmas Crafts for Toddlers

Here are our Bumpkins suggestions for some simple Christmas crafts to enjoy with your toddler

Now it’s time the trees are popping up in the shops (and some keen houses) let the creative juices flow and get the children interested in Christmas by crafting.

Gingerbread men are such fun to make and incredibly tasty too. The dough takes a while to make (30 prep time) lots of cutters and not necessarily gingerbread men shapes.

Salt dough shapes – these are brilliant keepsakes (if kept in the right temperature) there are a few ways to set them so choose best one for your family. A word to the wise, don’t use your expensive plates in the microwave as they can break. (It wasnt pleasant).

Snowflakes – easy to make and such fun for the children when they see the different shapes they can make  by snipping.

Hand puppets – paper ones are just as fun to make and children need minimal assistance. Sugar paper is ideal, however, you can use any paper/card for this craft.  Draw round their hand (fingers closed) to give enough room to glue/use as a puppet.

Mince pies, another Christmas staple!! Really simple to make and very yummy to eat afterwards.

Paper chains are good fun, gummed paper is perfect for this activity.  Although prit stick works well.  You can make in all different colours and hang up as decorations.
