Keep Moving

An increasing amount of emphasis is being placed on the importance of leading active and healthy lifestyles. It is so important that children are encouraged to exercise and keep healthy from a young age. Here are some great ways to help offer your children a more healthy and active lifestyle and keep moving.

• Children become stronger by taking part in activities that make them use their muscles. Pushing and pulling on playground apparatus, swinging and climbing are excellent ways to help children get moving. Make sure your child has plenty of time during the day to play.

• Outdoor activities are a great way to keep healthy; Fun outdoor activities such as simple obstacle courses, relay games or ball games are great for getting a bit of fresh air and exercise. Physical play also has the added benefit of helping to develop social skills and confidence.

• Encourage enthusiasm for exercise: Allowing children to have enough energy for these physical activities is vital. Implementing a good sleep routine, so that children are well rested, is a good way to combat this.
