Growing Mint

Children love to explore the world around them, and exploring the natural world is an important part of this. Growing mint is a good way to do this.

Growing mint at Bumpkins

We have created a garden area at our Main Nursery site, where the children have been growing their own vegetables and flowers.

We have had an abundance of mint recently, and have invited parents to help themselves to a handful from our Nursery foyer at pick up time.

But what to do with fresh mint? There is a huge range of fun and exciting ways you can use mint.

Or why not add the scent to your own play dough?

Our latest Toddler Tips will show you how:

You can of course use fresh mint in cooking.

We love these innovative (yet simple) recipes that your children can get involved in creating with you.

Why not try growing mint with your child in your own garden. It’s so straightforward to grow but just watch it doesn’t take over! You can buy a plant from the garden centre or even the supermarket and just plant it in a suitable spot in your garden.

Do let us know how you get on with your own mint growing, and you craft or food creations.
